The Magic Wand Tool is in the same place as the Quick Selection Tool. You click and hold on the tool and you will then be able to choose the tool you require. In the properties at the top you can change the Tolerance. The higher the number the bigger the area that will be selected. It basically increases the range of similar colours it adds. The best approach is to try clicking on an area and seeing if it selects the whole area you want. If not, change the tolerance.

Once you have selected the area you want, you can delete it or paint over it etc. Once you are finished, use the CTRL+D shortcut to deselect everything.
