Quick Selection Tool - Photoshop

Last edited: 20th May 2022

The Quick Selection Tool, often referred to as the Quick Select tool is a little bit like the Magic Wand Tool but instead of clicking on individual areas, you paint over the areas (like a brush) that you want to select.

Right click, copy image

Choose the Quick Select Tool (under the Lasso Tool) then draw on the area you want to select.

Draw over the middle, not the edge because Photoshop will guess the rest of the section it thinks you want. In the options at the top you can change the size of your brush. You can also click the brush with a minus sign if you select something you do not want. It will deselect that area.

Once you have selected the area you want you can paint over it or delete it etc.

When you have finished editing, use the CTRL+D shortcut to deselect everything.
